Written by:  The Trainer Last year’s OMHA silver medalists hit the ice way back in August with one goal on their mind. Gold. Expectations were high after a memorable Major Pee Wee year. The team had flashes of being brilliant throughout the year. And at other times you wondered what the heck was going on. It was an up and down regular season and the tournaments were tough. But it really all comes down to the playoff weekend.

The Scandinave Spa Minor Bantam Highlanders have played with grit and determination.  In a fashion true to this group of boys, the team has secured a spot in Sunday's SCTA semi-finals at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls.  Our opponent is yet to be determined.  Stay tuned... The round robin is complete, we play the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Sunday at 2 pm.

Written by:  The Trainer The Minor Bantam Scandinave Highlanders would not allow the coldest winter in 50 years to freeze their hot play. Jan 17 to the 19th would see GBH make it to the quarter finals in the Huron Perth Tournament. Despite outshooting the Elgin\Middlesex Chiefs by a 2 to 1 margin in the quarter final game, they would lose a close one to the eventual tournament champs.

As the 2013/14 hockey season nears it’s mid way point, and as the last bit of turkey leftovers is creatively turned into another casserole, we take a look at where the Minor Bantam Grey Bruce Highlanders are today. First, the Toronto Marlies Christmas tournament: GBH packed their coolers with turkey sandwiches and eggnog and headed to the Big Smoke to partake in the Holiday Classic.

Taking home 3 trophies and winning the SCTA the boys seemed to be flying high and never lost a game in tournament play.
