Atoms Battle Battallion!
The Food Town Atoms played in Brampton to battle the Battallion on Sunday afternoon looking to get back in the win column.
The game did not start out well as Brampton scored very early to go up 1-0. The Highlanders did not get discouraged though as they kept fighting to tie the game up. Their hard work was rewarded as Tyson Lina (Hanover) got the equalizer capping off a nice passing play from Thomas Brown (Mount Forest) and Brenden Stewart (Township of Chatsworth). This got the Highlanders rolling as they started to carry the play and creating chances but just couldn't get the go ahead goal. Then penalties started to change the game as the Highlanders found themselves down two men for a very long extended period of time. Despite many fine saves from goaltender Matthew Donnelly (Walkerton), Brampton capitalized on their many powerplays to go ahead for good. The Food Town Atoms would not give up though as Tyson Hutcheson (Durham) buried a wrist shot on a nice feed from Will Black (Mount Forest). This would end the scoring for Grey Bruce as the final score would be 7-2. After a good week of practice the boys look to bounce back in Milton this Saturday. Good Luck Boys!
