Grey Bruce Highlanders Food town Major Atom’s Home Opener
They came from far and near all in anticipation of the first home game of the season for the major atoms. The opponent for the game was a very well respected and experienced team from Oakville.
The first period was a hard fought draw at 0-0 with goaltender Matthew Donnelly coming up big yet again.
The Oakville team struck in the second only to be matched on a shot by William Black which found the back of the net. Assists were awarded to Riley Torrie and Tyson Hutcheson. Oakville scored another to be up after two periods.
The third period saw the major atoms have a few letdowns which enabled Oakville to net 5 more with the final score 7-1.
The boys are adjusting to this level of competition and were in this game until the third period. Continue to work hard at practice and good things will happen.
