The Minor Peewee Grey Bruce Highlander team
has had many successes in the first half of the season. Gaining their first win, first regular season
win, first tournament championship, first two win weekend were some of the
tangible successes that had eluded this team in the past.
The team had a four game weekend cut short by the weather but on Sunday, the Buffalo Regals braved the roads and travelled to Chesley for a double header. Heading into the game Buffalo was hopeful of leap frogging the Highlanders but the Minor Peewees had other ideas. The man hours of practices were highlighted throughout the day as the Grey Bruce Highlanders were faster and more skilled in all areas. Although there were some tense moments throughout both games, the Highlanders skated away with two wins, 5-1 and 4-3. This day represents the first double header win for the 05 group in its history. This win also keeps Guelph in their sites as the Highlanders look to continue moving up the SCTA Standings.
The team staff would like to wish all parents and families of the team a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.
