Minor Bantam, 2014-2015 (Grey-Bruce Highlanders AAA Minor Hockey Association)

Although the Grey Bruce Highlander Minor Bantam team could not pull out a win in their double header against the Niagara North Stars today, they did take some time to spread some Christmas cheer with Jim McDonald, Chesley's number one hockey fan.

The Grey Bruce Highlander Minor Bantam team took a few minutes before their Saturday home game against Oakville to thank the generous sponsors Wesforyouthonline.ca and BDO who sponsored our home and away jerseys this year. Visit our Photo Gallery for pictures from today's presentations.

The Grey Bruce Highlanders Minor Bantam team joined the Hamilton Junior Bulldogs on the ice in an emotional ceremony to honour the memory of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo prior to their game on Sunday in Hamilton. With their sticks taped with red and Canada flag tape in honour of Cpl. Cirillo and Canada, the Highlanders stood alongside the Bulldogs to show their respect. Members of the Cirillo family as well as members of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders were on hand. Nathan Cirillo’s  cousin, Ryan Stepien, plays on the minor Bantam Bulldogs.

The Highlander Minor Bantams had a busy week with two weeknight games in Away Rinks and a Doubleheader  at Home last weekend.  The team came away in the wrong side of the win column overall but did manage to get 1 W in the 4 games.

The Grey Bruce Highlander Minor Bantam team arrived in Chesley to play three full periods of excellent hockey today.  After a disappointing showing in their last few games, the players clearly skated onto the ice with a new attitude and the intent to show Oakville who owns the ice in Chesley.
