Highlanders Take On Welland
After getting off to a slow start against the Oakville Rangers the day before the Power Workers' Union Minor PeeWee’s were looking to come out hard against the Welland Admirals. The first period started strong for the Highlanders as they controlled the play with their skating and forechecking and created many scoring chances but could not bury any of them.
As the game wore on the boys got into penalty trouble and Welland capitalized on their power play scoring a couple of goals. The minor peewee’s were trying to get back in this game but it was Welland who would score the next two goals to go up 4-0 after two periods.
After the intermission the boys came out hungry in the third and their hard work was rewarded when Tyson Hutcheson passed the puck out front to Will Black who tipped it to Mark Aljoe who zinged a low shot that found the back of the net to put the good guys on the board. Despite their best efforts the Highlanders couldn't get another goal and Welland tacked one on late to make the final 5-1.
The Minor PeeWee's would like to wish everyone in the Highlander family a Merry Christmas and a Fantastic New Year!!
