In the first game of
the doubleheader against Niagara North, the Power Workers' Minor Peewees were
looking for a big win. The boys came out hard and determined and we re rewarded
when Mark Aljoe bulged the twine with Jonny Pickett and Josh Lorenz picking up
the assists. With the game going back and forth with many momentum changes the
good guys would score again when Dawson Fahrer buried one on a good pass from
Cam Lightfoot.
Brayden Kelso made several great saves to keep the game tied at two but with time winding down the team from St. Catherines would score one more to win the game 3-2. The boys deserved a better outcome in this game but there hard work and determination did not go unnoticed!
Game Two
In game number two, the Power Workers' Union Minor PeeWees were looking for revenge. After a great potluck lunch, the boys came out ready to play and midway through the first Mark Aljoe banged home a rebound with Dawson Fahrer and Tyson Hutcheson getting the helpers. St. Catherines started to carry the play after this and would score a few of there own. With the Highlanders down but not out Carson English let a slap shot go from the point that found the back of the net. Cam Lightfoot and Tyson Lina would get the assists. This was the last goal the Highlanders would get and would end up losing 5-2. The boys will have to continue to work hard to get back in the win column. GO HIGHLANDERS GO!!
