Major Bantams vs. Southern Tier Admirals - RS Game #2
September 20, 2015 - After a short rest it was time to take the ice for game two of the doubleheader.

Buoyed by their late game comeback in the first game, the Admirals came out on a mission and took the play to the Highlanders in the first.  Brayden Kelso made several great saves in the first few minutes to keep the boys in the game until they found their footing.  After those shaky first few minutes, GBH seemed to rediscover their game legs and fought back with some great chances of their own.  The goalies were the story of the first as the teams skated off the end with a 0-0 tie.

Play seemed to open up in the second with several great chances at each end.  Once again STA opened the scoring midway through the second and once again, the 'landers came back with a quick reply when Myles Baker opened his goal account with assists going to Cody Marles and Nathan Ahrens.  The teams continued to swap chances but couldn't solve the goalies and headed to the intermission tied at ones.

Whatever the coaches said during the break seemed to work as the boys came out flying in the third.  Nathan Ahrens ripped a one timer past a stunned STA goalie after receiving a sweet drop pass from Emmett Sproule in the slot.  The team looked like they had gone ahead by two when Emmett scored on a wraparound, only to see the goal nullified by a pretty dubious goalie interference call.  Undaunted, the boys continued to forge ahead and finally got the two goal lead they were seeking when Jerrid Fossold was sent in all alone by Owen Tichbourne and made no mistake, scoring the insurance marker with a few minutes left in the third.  There was to be no comeback this time as Brayden shut the door the rest of the way giving the Highlanders a much deserved 3-1 win.

All in all great start for the boys taking 3 of a possible 4 points on the road. Next up is the home opener on September 26th vs. Guelph at "the Norm".
