HARD WORK FORCES BOUNCES OUR WAY!
The First Concrete Ltd. Bantams used a strong work ethic to put together a couple of impressive wins over the last week and here's hoping it's the beginning of a role!

The cards seemed to be stacked against the Highlander Bantams as they began this recent series of games.  First up was a tough road game against top of the league Brampton...on a tuesday night no less!  Despite a shaky start to the game Cam Plante was able to keep Brampton off the score sheet until the second period when a defensive zone giveaway led to a 1 - 0 lead.  That lead was short lived, however, as the Highlanders began to assert their forecheck.  Zach Tupker tied the game after Noah Solinger kept the puck in at the line and fed it to Ben Tupker.  Ben quickly fed the puck to the front of the net for brother Zach to tap in.  The boys maintained their relentless pressure and almost completely shut down their opponent.  It wasn't long before Troy Weber jumped on a giveaway in front of the Brampton net to bang in an unassisted effort.  From that point on the Bantams seemed to get stronger and stronger, dominating their opponent until Brendan Clayton fired a rocket into the empty net to seal the 3-1 lead.

The second game of the road trip saw the Highlanders give up a goal in the first shift of play against their nemesis, the Halton Hurricanes.  The boys never really recovered from the slow start and, apart from an unassisted wrist shot from Will Rickerby, the bantams could not mount much resistance and dropped the game 4-1.

Sunday's result in Hamilton was to be much more encouraging.  The First Concrete Ltd. Bantams thoroughly dominated and frustrated an undisciplined Bulldog team enroute to a 2-0 shut out victory.  Ryan Winter recorded the shut out as Ben Tupker scored the winner from Noah Johnson and Noah Solinger on the power play.  Will Rickerby would add an insurance marker with assists from Zach Tupker and Noah Johnson.

The Bantams will continue play this weekend with 3 games at home against Niagara Falls and Hamilton and hope to continue their current hot streak.

In other news...the FIrst Concrete Ltd. Bantams would like to extend congratulations and best wishes to Zach Tupker, Noah Johnson, and Bradyn Thompson as they represent our team at the upcoming All-Star game!  Good Luck Boys!
