DOUBLY DOUBLED UP IN DOUBLE HEADER!
Saturday was a long day for the First Concrete Ltd. Bantams as they twice hosted their counterparts from Niagara North, losing both games.

The Highlanders were looking to take advantage of an early rise and a long bus ride for their opponents but Niagara North was able to strike first.  They jumped out to an early 1 -0 lead in the first and added another in the second but from that point on it was all Highlanders.  Damien Sutton banged in another of his typical rebound goals on the power play off a Bradyn Thompson point shot to bring the team within one entering the third.  Despite a wide territorial advantage the Highlanders could muster very few close range scoring chances as Niagara North settled into a defensive shell.  The third remained scoreless and the game ended in a 2-1 loss.

Both teams looked for an improved effort in the second game but other than the score the contest was almost a mirror image.  Niagara North jumped out to an early lead and added another to make it a 2-0 lead before Dalton Black shoveled in a rebound from a nice D to D pass and shoot from Thompson to Danny Skinner.  Unfortunately, Niagara North answered to another to regain their two goal lead.  It looked like the breaks were going to start to go our way when Jordan Taylor was able to bounce a shot in off the goalies back after a nice cycle behind the net from Zach Tupker.  The momentum would shift back to Niagara as the Highlanders were unable to dig themselves out from penalty trouble and they gave up a 5 on 3 goal to make it 4-2.  Again, the Highlanders would spend all of the third pressing but the Niagara North defensive stand was too much.  The game ended much as the first with the First Concrete Bantams doubled up 4-2.
