Strong Come-Back for Biermans Minor Bantams….
The Grey Bruce Highlanders Minor Bantams fought back and at 10:47 of the third period Justin McCrae converted a beautiful set-up from Jordan Caskenette to give the ’98 Highlanders a 6-5 come from behind win against the Huron Perth Lakers on Saturday past...
Falling behind by 4 goals early in the contest due to penalty trouble, the boys battled back with goals coming from Caskenette, Wilson and Donnelly. Brady Becker tied the score @ 8:25 of the second with assists going to Reaman and Tiley. Lady luck finally shone on this group of players midway through the third when a high and wide shot by Caskenette hit the taped end of the Laker goalie’s stick and deflected down into the net knotting the score at five and setting the stage for McCrae’s winning marker. Solid between the pipes was newcomer Tristan Lewis, who got the start against his former teammates. Lewis turned away 30 of 35 Laker shots including a brilliant save on a clear cut breakaway in the second period. Keep up the hard work boys. Up next are the North Central Predators on August 31st.
