Succesfull weekend for Minor Bantam Highlanders
The Dan Rear Lawn Service Minor Bantam Highlanders travelled to Teen Ranch on Saturday to face the Halton Hurricanes. Grey Bruce built a 2 - 0 lead on goals by Connor Patton and Tanner Bastien. In the second, the Highlanders backed off with their play and allowed the Hurricanes to get back in the game. Halton scored two goals to tie the game at 2. The third period saw a back and forth game with Billy Kelly scoring with less than a minute remaining to notch the victory for the Highlanders.
On Sunday, the Welland Tigers travelled to Chesley to meet the Highlanders. In another strong effort the Highlanders took the lead on a Jordan Rear goal. Welland tied the game in the second period. Once again, the third period was a fast paced, back and forth affair with both teams having scoring opportunities. Welland took the lead with under 5 minutes left in the third to seal the win.
All in all, a strong effort in both weekend games!
