The Dan Rear Lawn Service Minor Bantam Highlanders visited Markham this past weekend to participate in the Markham Majors Fall Classic tournament. Game one saw the North York Rangers as our first opponent. After out shooting the Rangers all game, the Highlanders scored a 3 - 2 win.
In Game two, the team came out flying and defeated the West Seneca Wings 6 - 1. Our third contest was against the Hamburg Hawks. In what was a real see saw battle, an unfortunate penalty with less than 2 minutes to go in the third period cost the Dan Rear Lawn Service Minor Bantams the win, losing 2 -1. Game four saw the Lambton Sting and the Highlanders battle hard right to the end. The Highlanders came out on top of this one 4 - 3, good enough for second place in the round robin and earning them a date in the semi finals with the Whitby Wildcats. After battling in the first period, and part of the second, the Highlanders started to run out of gas. Injuries definately took their toll as the game wore on. Final score Whitby 6 Grey Bruce 1.
All in all, a successful weekend!
