Minor Peewees Split Exhibition Games
The Amtelecom and Jaekel Manufacturing Minor Peewees split their last two exhibition games with a win and a loss.
This new and young Highlander team has come out strong, winning their 2nd exhibition game 5-4 against the Huron Perth Lakers, and falling short by only 2 goals against the North Central Predators.
On Thursday, August 28 the team travelled to Goderich to face the Huron Perth Laker squad, and came out strong taking a 2-0 lead in the first. Both teams battled back and forth, with all three Highlander lines showing their strengths, and contributing to team points equally. Their defensive play, determination and aggression on the puck brought them out of a 4-3 hole, to take a 5-4 win over the Lakers.
On Saturday, September 6, the team hosted the North Central Predators, but came up short, to feel their first defeat of the season with a 5-3 loss, again with each line contributing to a goal apiece.
While this new team is experiencing their strengths and weaknesses, they will indeed continue to iron out their wrinkles, and capitalize on their strengths, as they continue to gel as a team, and improve as individuals.
