The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is responsible for designing and implementing Canada's plan for the safe, long-term management of used nuclear fuel. The plan, known as Adaptive Phased Management, requires used fuel to be contained and isolated in a deep geological repository. It also calls for a comprehensive process to select an informed and willing host for the project. The NWMO is a not-for profit organization established in 2002 by Canada’s nuclear electricity producers in accordance with the Nuclear Fuel Waste Act (NFWA). The founding members of the NWMO are Ontario Power Generation (OPG), New Brunswick Power Corporation, and Hydro-Québec (HQ). Carter Allen
Scott Carter and Chris Allen met as campers at Camp Queen Elizabeth on Georgian Bay in the 1980’s. They naturally fell into leadership roles and became camp councillors together until they graduated high school. Even today they are connected with CQE as they watch their own children become campers. Scott and Chris moved with their families to the Thornbury area in order to enjoy the more laid back and outdoor focused lifestyle. The area also provided an opportunity to use creativity and new technologies within their building practice and to be able to work with a unique client base who are also rooting here to enjoy the four season cottage life. The two partners have grown Carter Allen to be one of the most reputable home builders in the Georgian Triangle area within a very short time. They are proud of their superior quality and innovation and strive to always learn more through every project they are a part of. With Carter Allen as your lead, you will not be hiring a run of the mill contractor, you will become part of their respected team, during your project and for many years to come.
