Pee Wee's End Regular Season - Prepare For SCTA
The Highlander Major Pee Wee's finished up their regular season not quite the way they had planned this past weekend. The boys dropped a couple of hard fought games to the surging Hamilton Bulldogs. Now they must dust themselves off and begin preparations for the SCTA tournament which they are hosting in Owen Sound Feb 28/29.
The Pee Wee's battled hard but could not capitalize on numerous chances and the Bulldogs pulled off the sweep in the season home and home finale. A bit of a disappointing finish to such a positive season for the Highlanders. The boys now have 5 practices left to regroup, re energize, re fresh and get their game back to an elite level. The team must find that fire for success and commit to leaving everything on the ice over the next two weeks.
SCTA's will be a tough task with the Pee Wee's being the "Pool of Death" with the 3-7 seeds playing off vs. each other. Only 5 points separates 3rd from 7th but the Highlanders have beaten every team in the pool this season and have the ability to attain their season goal of being one of the top two teams in their pool at the conclusion of the tournament.
It is easy for a player to say he wants to have success or meet their goals. Is the group committed enough to put in the work and make the sacrifice to attain such goals? That is the question Coach put to this special group of players. The results will speak for themselves in two weeks.
