Storm Blown Away by the Highlanders
written by:  The Trainer
It was a frigid Sunday in Flesherton, so cold in fact that on the way into town about a half dozen dogs were seen stuck to fire hydrants. The cold did not seem to bother the Scandinave Grey-Bruce Highlanders as they remained stuck in high gear for most of this game.

The result of hard work paying off came early when Hayden Coulter scored from the side of the net with an assist going to Connor Roberts. Before the first period would end Roberts would get one of his own end on a pass from Brendan Cederberg to give the Red and White a two goal lead going into the second.

A rare let up by the home team allowed the Guelph Storm to close within one at the 8:24 mark of the second. But that would be all for the Storm as the home team once again stomped on the gas and ran right over the visitors with 5 unanswered goals. The legion of doom line made it 3-1 when Brendan Cederberg fired one past the Storm netminder with assists going to line mates Connor Roberts and Hayden Coulter. Zack Trott would throw one at the net that fooled a screened goalie with a helper going to Captain Derek Cornfield.

Connor Roberts, again from Cederberg and Leif McFadden, would add to Guelph’s misery at the start of the third. The Highlanders were not done yet as Trent Verbeek fired one glove side to make it 6-1 on assists from Zack Trott and Zack Vokes. And, to cap it all off, Connor Roberts completed the hat trick with a nice wrap around with an assist from line mate Brendan Cederberg. The Flesherton arena was packed solid with happy fans as it seemed everyone and their dog came out to watch this game. Well, most dogs.

Final score: Grey Bruce 7 Guelph 1
Next Game: Highlanders at Burlington Eagles Dec 1
