Waste Management Peewees Tie First Period With Oakville Rangers
The Waste Management Peewees met up with the Oakville Rangers on Saturday. At the end of the first period the score was 0-0 leaving the fans on the edge of their seats. The Highlander defence was steller against the Rangers.
In the end, defensive play from everyone was not enough as the final score was 4-0 in favour of the Rangers. Scoring 2 power play goals, and the Highlanders unable to capitilize on their own power plays the Peewees walk away with a loss, but a battle well fought! Tyler Atkinson was in net, playing a strong game and held the team in the match, but the forwards were unable to put the puck in the net.
Defensmen Quinton Maddock, Joshua Urbshott, Danny Skinner, Bradyn Thompson, Logan Swanton, and Dylan Reeves kept it close and played well to move the puck out of the Highlander zone and keep Oakville in check.
Next weekend is a busy one for the Waste Management Peewees as they travel to meet the Welland Southern Tier Admirals for a double header on Saturday October 22 and then back to the Chesley arena on Sunday for a rematch with Oakville at 2:30.
