Peewees Split in Double Header
The Highlanders were able to gain two points on the weekend to start 2011 off on right foot.

Unfortunately the boys began on the new year on their left foot, losing the double-header opening game by a score of 3-0 giving up a goal a period.
Grey-Bruce did regain their balance for the second game and were able to open the gift bag of goals from Santa to roar back with a 5-3 VICTORY!!  The Highlanders opened the scoring early in the second on a goal from Braeden Marshall (Reaman) and built on the lead within the next minute on a goal by Brady Stewart (Schmid, Gill).  Jake Wilson would stretch the lead to 3-0 two minutes later to stun the visiting Falcons.  With their wings clipped St. Catherines would strike back with two quick goals themselves.
The Highlanders, with the taste of victory within reach, would have not let this one slip away.  Jake Wilson would complete the natural hat-trick scoring two more third period goals (Marshall, Park and Reaman, Acheson respectively).  Brendan Macham was able to capture his first regular season victory with a solid performance in goal.  Outstanding TEAM effort!!!!!
Excellent response to a sub par performance to start the day boys.  Imagine - hard work does pay off!?!
Carry this victory into the weekend as you head to the Niagara to compete in the Festival of Lights tournament.  Good Luck boys!!!
