Let Them Eat Cake
The Albion Amusement/Geosmart Energy Peewees topped off their weekend games with some cake and some Christmas cheer.

After a couple of heart breaking loses on the weekend the boys prepared for the holidays with a post game Christmas party at the Chesley Firehall.  The boys filled up on pizza and cake, exchanged gifts with the gift game and of course added in a little road hockey.  Great time had by all.  A special thanks goes to Ed Love for bringing both the home and away jersey cakes - I guess he just can't stop bringing the jerseys!!!  Be sure to check out the photos on the events tab.
Prior to the Christmas celebration the boys played a couple of games on the weekend.  On Saturday they traveled to Brampton where they built up a 2-0 lead on goals from Acheson (Donnelly) and O'Donnell.  They held that until late in the second but they were able to build the lead again to 3-1 until the last minute of the the second.  The Highlanders started the third with a 3-2 lead but would surrender and early goal and give up the eventual game winner on the penalty kill.  Final score of 5-3 but Grey-Bruce was showing signs of life and desire.

Sunday saw the Grey-Bruce hosting the Niagara Canucks in Chesley.  Again, the Highlanders would start the scoring when Jordan Reaman scored (Marshall, O'Donnell) on the first shift of the game.  The boys would carry this lead late into the second when Niagara would score at 3:50 left in the frame.  With both teams short handed and playing 4 on 4 the Niagara monster would find open space and bury a shot past Brendan Macham, who had made numerous amazing saves giving his team a chance, with only 50 seconds left in the game.

The games are getting closer so wins will come.  Keep up the hard work boys!!
Maybe everyone should be asking Santa for more goal scoring to help with this win situation?!
