Tough Weekend for Peewees
On the weekend the boys completed the southern Ontario connection traveling to Niagara Falls on Saturday and hosting Welland on Sunday.

The Niagara game saw a number of penalties called against the host but the Highlanders were unable to capitalize and ultimately ended giving the Falls a 4-0 victory.  Grey-Bruce got outstanding goaltending from AJ Braiden who gave the boys every opportunity to stay in the game but the Highlanders just could not find the back of the net.

On Sunday the Welland Tigers arrived in Chesley to strut their stuff.  The game was a very physical with the Highlanders opening the scoring with a power play goal from Cole Hodgins (Tiley, Donnelly).  Brenden Macham would hold Grey Bruce in the game with a number of outstanding saves but the Tigers would eventually beat him with a shorthanded goal early in the second.  The second period turned out to not be a good one for the local boys as the visitors would add a breakaway goal 40 seconds later and then 5 minutes later, on a missed defensive coverage they would score another.  Welland would build this to a 5-1 lead in the middle of the third which is how the game would end.  The boys lost not only the game but would also lose Hilly with a tough check into the boards.

No one could touch the boys later in the day, when they travelled to Kilsyth, completely dominating the play and most defininitly coming out on the winning end.  Good to see the boys having fun!!
