Richmond Hill, ON:  -  Team Ontario Director of Operations Barclay Branch along with Head Coach Roger Hunt, assistant coaches Drew Bannister and Seamus Kotyk are pleased to announce the sixty-eight players identified to attend the 2013 Under 17 Provincial camp.

Players were identified from across the three Ontario Branches of Hockey Canada throughout to the course of the 2012-2013 season. Of the sixty eight players identified to attend the selection camp, thirty-four are from the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, representing fourteen different OMHA teams. All thirty-four OMHA players were selected in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection including eight first round selections. All thirty-four players selected were part of two OMHA teams that took part in the 2013 OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener.

Director of Operations, Barclay Branch and his coaching staff will determine a final roster following a camp to be held at General Motors Center in Oshawa from August 14-18, 2013. This group will represent Ontario at the 2014 World Hockey Challenge to be held in Cape Breton Nova Scotia from December 27th 2013 until January 5, 2014.

“We are very proud to have this group of players represent the OMHA as they compete for spots with Team Ontario.” said Ian Taylor, Director of Development for the OMHA. “For many of these players, this is the end of their minor hockey experience and we wish all the players the best of luck moving forward in their hockey careers.”

The Hockey Development Centre for Ontario [HDCO] facilitates the Men’s Under-17 hockey program on behalf of the 3 Ontario Branches of Hockey Canada.
