NEW YEAR starts with a WIN
The Waste Management Minor PeeWee played their final round robin game in the Bell Capital Cup on New Years Day

The Highlanders met the Seaway Valley Rapids in their  final game and what better way to start the year than with a 4-2 victory.  Scott Chisholm opened the scoring with 1:27 remaining in the first period assisted by Eric Charlebois and Ethan Bullivant.  The Seaway Valley team controlled the play and scored the only 2 in the middle frame.

Jakob Lee assisted by Troy Weber evened the score with 9:37 remaining in the 3rd and scored remained tied until Weber assisted by Lee put the team ahead on a powerplay goal with 45 seconds left on the clock.  The Rapids were working hard to even it again when Jakob Lee received the pass from Scott Chisholm and broke away and put it securely into the empty net.

Game MVP was Ryan Winter
Hardest Working Player of the game Ethan Bullivant

Then it was time for the Skills Competition, and Highlanders competed hard and represented us well. Unfortunately the 60 or so Highlander fans didn't get a vote but ask anyone of us and we'd say our Skaters Agility Relay team consisting of Scott Chisholm, Noah Solinger and Evan Spencer won but the judge thought otherwise.  Great Effort boys.

With 1 win, an All Star MVP, and pin trading complete we left Ottawa with lot of great memories.
