Highlanders program helps shape OHL draft pick on and off the ice
We caught up with past Grey Bruce Highlander and 2025 OHL draft pick Hayden Stroud about his experience with the Highlanders and what he has taken from it into his future. Here's what he shared:

"Being drafted to the OHL was a dream come true, but I couldn’t have done it alone. Years of hard work, support from my family, teammates, and Highlanders coaches pushed me to improve every day.

The Highlanders didn’t just help me become a better hockey player, they helped me become a better person. Playing seven seasons with the organization, I learned accountability, discipline, and the value of putting in the work even when no one’s watching.

Coaches like Grant Murray and Matt Oikawa challenged me to reach higher, and the competitive environment gave me opportunities I’ll never forget. My advice to anyone chasing their goals would be to keep working hard, trust your ability, and don’t get discouraged. Everyone’s path in hockey is different."

The Grey Bruce Highlanders program allows players the chance to play high-level hockey, grow as a person, and create memories that last a lifetime.
