Highlanders partner with Owen Sound Attack on new coach mentorship program
The Grey Bruce Highlanders are proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Owen Sound Attack, focused on advancing coach development and elevating the overall strength of the Highlanders program. Through this mentorship initiative, Highlanders coaches will have the opportunity to learn directly from the Attack’s experienced staff—gaining valuable insights, tools, and strategies that will enhance their leadership, improve team performance, and ultimately build stronger, more competitive teams across all age groups.

The program officially launched at the start of the month with a joint meeting, bringing together coaches from both organizations to introduce the mentorship program and outline goals for the months ahead.

Following the kickoff, Highlanders coaches will take part in bi-weekly, small group mentorship sessions throughout the season, offering consistent opportunities for discussion and learning on topics such as team management, player development, communication, and leadership.

This mentorship represents an exciting step forward for the Highlanders’ coaching staff, providing access to ongoing professional support from the Owen Sound Attack’s experienced coaches. Together, both organizations are committed to strengthening the development pathway for coaches and players alike.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to learn from the Attack’s coaching team,” said Graham Melbourne, President, Grey Bruce Highlanders AAA. “This mentorship will be invaluable in helping our coaches grow and continue building strong, competitive teams.”

“It’s exciting to be able to start a mentorship program with Grey Bruce Highlanders Minor Hockey and work with the AAA organization in the area,” said Reagan O’Grady, Assistant Coach, Owen Sound Attack. “This is just a start of how we can help grow the game, give back to the community, and help kids in the Grey Bruce area reach the potential to play in the Ontario Hockey League.”
