TRYOUTS
This is to announce
the GBH Tryouts for the 2022/23 season. In compliance with the new Hockey
Canada Player Pathways we will hold Tryouts for U14, U15, U16, and U18 in the
Spring, whereas Tryouts for U12 and U13 will be held in September. A
separate announcement along with Registration details will be
posted by June for the U12 and U13 Tryouts.
TRYOUT REGISTRATION
The online Registration Form will be available from April 1-20, 2022. A Permission to Skate form from your Home Centre is required to attend Tryouts and Pre Tryout Clinics and must be submitted with the Registration or presented at the door. The Fee is $25 for each Tryout Session and Pre Tryout Clinic and is payable at the door by cash or cheque. Registration will be accepted at the door, however, online Registration expedites the check in process and is preferred.
PRE TRYOUT GOALIE EVALUATION CLINIC
Attendance at this Evaluation Clinic is encouraged but not mandatory. This Evaluation Clinic will be led by our Goalie Instructor with assistance from the Head Coach. The objective of this Evaluation Clinic is to provide each goalie a fair opportunity to be assessed in a controlled environment prior to the Tryout Sessions. All registered Goalies will be eligible to attend the Tryouts Sessions.
PRE TRYOUT BODY CONTACT CLINIC (U14 only)
Attendance at this Body Contact Clinic is mandatory for all U14 Players. This Body Contact Clinic will be led by our Skills Instructors with assistance from the Coaching Staff. The objective of this Body Contact Clinic is provide players an introduction to the principles of Body Contact hockey in a controlled environment. Returning players will attend the Group A Clinic, whereas, new players will attend the Group B Clinic. The Tryout Sessions for U14 will involve Body Contact.
PARENT INFORMATION SESSIONS
A Parent Information Session will be held prior to the 2nd Tryout Session. The objective of this Session is to provide Parents with an overview of the Grey Bruce Highlander Program, including costs. In addition, the Head Coach will outline his Coaching Philosophy and the goals for the season.
TRYOUT SCHEDULE
The Tryouts and Pre Tryout Clinics commence on April 23rd and conclude May 1st. The detailed schedule is posted to our Calendar on the GBH website. At this point there are no Covid Restrictions expected, however, should this change we will announce on our website accordingly.
