On
behalf of the GBH Executive, we would like to thank you for your patience
during these unusual times. We have been working diligently with
OHMA, Public Health and all the municipalities we rent ice from to put together
an extensive Return to Play plan. This is based on the plan and protocols
released by the OHF on July 31, 2020.
We have had a number of key themes clarified for us by the O.M.H.A. based on the stance that the O.H.F. has taken. At this point it is our understanding that there will not be rep/AAA level hockey in Ontario this season. At this point there are no tryouts scheduled and organizations are making plans based on last year’s rosters. In response to this direction we are working to get a plan approved that will ensure our players will receive a program that features fitness, skills development, team practice, and competitive play in a small team format. (EX. 3 on 3) Please note that with limits on travel players from last season’s teams are able to play with us or return to their home center. Waivers are not being issued this season.
Over the next few weeks we will be working to get our plan approved and our coaches up to speed. We anticipate starting on the ice on September 19th. As soon as we have our plan approved and have further information to pass on we will. Please understand that we will require your cooperation, understanding and assistance as we move forward and navigate through this process.
