Minor Midgets Heading to OMHA Finals
Submitted By Donna Morrison on Thursday, February 23, 2017
To quote MM_ Hockey_Guru from Twitter  "#35 in Minor Hockey Rankings BUT! #1 in your hearts. GBH advances to the OMHA Championship Weekend".

The Grey Bruce "Wes for Youth" Minor Midget Highlanders have had the attention of social media and the SCTA in the last few weeks. The so called "Cinderella" team swept Guelph in 3 games to secure their spot in the OMHA finals

The team had a difficult start to the season with the tragic death of their beloved father, friend and long term trainer Corey Lina in October.  A Fall full of grief and then plagued by injuries saw the team going into the Christmas break with a less than inspiring record. The Highlanders came out of the Christmas break with a full healthy roster and began the climb to show their winning ways. The team had a 9 and 1 record in their last 10 games showing that peaking at the end of the season can be done.

As many players and parents flocked to social media to celebrate the win and the road to the OMHA finals last night...the comments all reflected that while we celebrate the amazing accomplishments, our team remembers our tough Fall.....
