Condolences to the Lina family.
It is a sad day for the Grey Bruce Highlanders organization
as Corey Lina passed away on Wednesday October 19th. The organization would like to extend our
deepest sympathy to Corey’s family, Lisa, Tyson and Skylar. Corey loved many
things in life but none more than his family and friends.
Corey was a staunch supporter of the organization. His smile, enthusiasm and positive energy soon made him a favorite with everyone he encountered. An avid outdoorsman, Corey lived life to the fullest and he was never afraid to get involved in something or just to share a laugh.
Corey was heavily involved with the 2001 Highlanders team taking a role behind the bench since the team started in Major Atom. Corey was especially passionate about looking after “his boys” on the bench. For many players on the team some of their favourite moments in hockey involved Corey using humour, a kind word, or a unique “Coreyism” to help them through. He never failed to model for them the values that we try and develop in all Highlanders players. Hard work, determination, honesty and a love of your teammates.
We will miss you Fella.
