This Saturday at 2 p.m. the Highlanders Bantam (2001) squad team is playing against
the Guelph Gryphons at the Eddie Bush arena in Collingwood. With these two rivals sitting next to each other in the standings it promises to be a hard fought affair. So far the Highlanders are leading the season
series with two wins and a tie.
The Highlanders Bantam squad features Myles Baker, Chris Brown, Eric Lalonde, and Emmett Sproule who all hail from Collingwood. The team also includes Owen Tichbourne from Georgian Shores, Cody Marles from Creemore, and Keegan Foster from Wasaga Beach.
This season the Highlanders organization has played a select number of games across the zone to promote AAA hockey. The first game featured a win by the Midget squad over the Hamilton Bulldogs in Saugeen Shores. The second game resulted in a 4-2 win by the Minor Midgets over the Oakville Rangers in Thornbury. The Bantams hope to continue the streak this Saturday!
