Highlander Night @ the Cyclones
Submitted By dmoffatt on Wednesday, January 2, 2013
With the Owen Sound Greys relocating to Brampton following the 2011-2012 season the Listowel Cyclones Jr B club requested from the OHA and was approved to expand their non-import drawing zone to include Minto, Mapleton, Wellington North and all of Grey County. This approval makes Listowel the home centre for most players from the Highlanders Zone wishing to play Junior B hockey without the need for the Junior Club to use import cards.

The Cyclones have extended an invitiaion to the Highlander association to join them for Highlanders Night on Friday January 11th, 7:30 in Listowel as the Cylcones host the Elmira Sugar Kings.

Current Highlander players (Reid Simmons, Brandon Eagles, Connor Shaw) have been welcome additions to the Cyclones Lineup for a few games this season as AP players

With Highlander alumni on both the Listowel and Elmira lineups it's sure to be another good game between these Highway 86 rivals.

Highlander Alumni currently playing in Listowel include:
95's - Tanner Mighton (Durham)
94's - Chris Gillman (Owen Sound)
92's - Patrick Bell (Grand Valley)
92's - Tyler Crawford (Chatsworth)

Elmira has 3 former Highlanders
95's - Zac Coulter (Owen Sound)
94's - Mitch Wright (Chesley)
92's - Jake Weidner (Grand Valley)

Patrick, Jake and current Highlander PeeWee Assistant Coach Josh Sguigna all from Grand Valley were members of the Highlanders 2008 Major Midget SCTA Champs.

All Highlander players wearing either Highlander jacket or jersey will be admitted FREE.
Lets pack the rink with Red, White & Black!!!
