Grey Bruce battles for Two points against Hamilton & Halton
RBC Dominion Securities AAA Highlanders played in Hamilton Sunday Nov 1st, Highlanders came out slow allowing Hamilton to jump ahead 2-0 early in the first period. Grey Bruce woke up and battled back to make it a close game, despite some heroic saves by Jerrad Kiss to keep the game in reach, the Highlanders couldn't get ahead of the determined Bull Dog team taking a 5-3 loss. Grey Bruce scoring was Mitch Wright from Trevor Hughson & Ryan Hudson, Adam Timlock from Andy Graham & Ian Nichols , Ian Nichols from Kurtis MacDermid & Hayden Allen.
Saturday Nov 7th the Leeder & Associates club traveled to Milton to take on the Halton Hurricanes. Highlander Defence core steps up big with the team being down four players, Mitch Borden & Andy Graham move up to the forward line adding size & grit in the corners for the 3-1 win. Ryan Hudsdon, Kurtis MacDermid, Hayden Allen & Cole Rooney play smart tough hockey and alot of it with only 4 D. Hayden Allen adds offence too when he opened the scoring to make it a 1-0 game, assisted by DJ Ardis, Mitch Wright fired in the second goal with assists from Trevor Hughson & Hayden Allen. Trevor Hughson creates a turn over in the neutral zone and races in on an unassisted break away for the cushion goal. Paul Boyadjian played well in the net with some nice game saving stops. Great effort boys!!
