Minor Bantams Wrap Up Season
The Dan Rear Lawn Service Minor Bantam Highlanders finished up their season this past weekend, competing in the SCTA qualifier in Welland. Game 1 saw the Highlanders up against Niagara Falls. After a good offensive effort, the Highlanders came away with a 5 - 2 win.
Game 2 had the Brampton Battalion up against the Highlanders. In what was the biggest game of the year, we came out flat and had a poor effort against a team that we match up well with. Final score 6 - 2 Brampton. Game 3 saw the squad up against the first place Welland Tigers. Once again, we spotted the opposition a few goals early, but battled hard for the rest of the game, but the damage was done early. Final score Welland 8 - Grey Bruce 1. Game 4 put us up against second place St Catherines Falcons. Coming out with a much better effort, the boys battled to a 2 - 2 tie. Unfortunately, we didn't move on to Sunday but we did gain some respect in our last game!
