Minor Peewees 50/50 in weekend play

The Amtelecom/Jaekel Manufacturing Minor Peewees took one and lost one, in weekend play against Oakville and Niagara Falls.
On Friday night the team travelled to Oakville to face the 1st place Oakville Rangers. Knowing what they were up against, the squad came out ready to compete, but Oakville's years of team experience became evident in their play. While the Rangers managed to down the Highlanders by an 8 goal difference, alot of good things happened on the ice. Oakville's play is to be respected, and games like this can only make the Highlanders' stronger. The final score was in Oakvilles' favour of 8-0.
Sunday found the Highlanders hosting the Niagara Falls Canucks. Following Friday nights' fast pace, and hard passing game, the boys demonstrated more strength on both ends of the ice.
The team took a comfortable lead of 3-0, and held off the opposition until late in the 3rd, allowing the Canucks one point.
The end of the game saw the Highlanders take the win, with a 5-1 score.
The squad will travel to Niagara Falls next Saturday, for a rematch.
