Major Midget SCTA results after 2 games
The Lakeview RC Centre Grey-Bruce Highlanders AAA Major Midgets are 1-1 after day one of the SCTA Playoff Tournament being held in St.Catharines.
The first game was a 1-0 shutout for Grey Bruce over Brampton Battalion. Trent Hawke scored with just over 5 minutes left in the game to break the 0-0 deadlock. Justin Ainslie assisted on Trent's winning goal. Drew Pegrum was in goal to earn the shutout.
The second game saw the Guelph Junior Storm defeat Grey-Bruce by a score of 4-1. Robbie Moe scored for the Highlanders on the powerplay with 26 seconds left in the second period to make the score 2-1. Brett Woods and Kevin Czuczman assisted on the goal. Guelph went ahead in the third with two quick goals to put the game out of hand.
The Tournament continues on Saturday and Sunday with Grey-Bruce playing Hamilton and Halton Hills on Saturday.
