OMHA CHAMPIONSHIPS
They've done it ! Our Peewee boys have secured their spot at the OMHA AAA championship weekend in Belleville March 22-24th.
To recap the semifinals series. The first game was played in Milton, where the Highlanders took this game 3-1. The second game was a home game in Chesley. The noon start resulted in a 2-2 tie. These boys have had a year filled with tie games so this was no surprise ! Game 3 brought the Grey Bruce boys back to Milton for a Monday night game at a new location. The Peewee boys gave up their first loss to the Halton Hurricanes with a score of 1-3. This made the series now tied with 3 points each and equal goals for and against. Game 4 came back to the Grey Bruce area using the Durham location. The Peewees did not disappoint the fans, coming away with a spectacular 5-0 win. The team showed those watching that they meant business. Everyone played a stellar game! Just 1 more point was needed to move the team onto the Championship weekend. Saturday's game 5 was played back in Milton at the now familiar John Tonelli arena. Once again, the Grey Bruce Highlander Peewees flexed their muscles and captured the win with a solid 5-1 ending.
