BABY STEPS!
The First Concrete Ltd Bantams continued to take baby steps towards better results in the recent double header against the Southern Tier Admirals!
The Grey Bruce Highlander Bantams showed that their improved play was more of a trend than an accident as they faced the surging Southern Tier Admirals. With a strong start to the year in the books the Admirals may have taken the Highlanders lightly and had to struggle for their points this weekend. Behind stingy defensive play and the strong goaltending of Ryan Winter, the Highlanders battled to a 1-1 draw. Jakob Lee netting the lone goal on a rebound off Will Rickerby and a Danny Skinner point shot.
The second game featured a Southern Tier team seemingly intent on intimidating the Grey Bruce Highlanders but to no avail. The boys showed grit and discipline throughout the game and were able to open the scoring. Damian Sutton showed his quick hands as he lifted a rebound into the net on a power play. Brendan Clayton and Zach Tupker assisted. Unfortunately, the Highlanders were unable to strike again and dropped a hard fought game 2-1. Cam Plante was steller in goal.
The First Concrete Ltd Bantams are once again on the road this upcoming weekend as they travel to Niagara Falls to face the Rivermen in a double header.
