The final game of league play for the Biermans
Bar and Grill Bantams would see the boys take two points home from the hosting
Guelph Storm team....
With a solid team effort of end-to-end action for two full periods, the Highlander club kept the pressure on the Storm with plenty of offensive opportunities and strong defensive back up. At the 13 minute mark of the third period the play making skills of the Grey Bruce boys would see the squad pull ahead into the lead as Brent West (Shallow Lake) slipped a centre ice pass to Jordan Caskenette (Owen Sound) who would sneak one past the Storm netminder on a patient deke play. Not allowing the Storm to even the score, the Biermans lads dug even deeper to double their lead as Cole Hodgins (Mount Forest) would start the next play with puck movement to West, who would make a heads up pass to the tape of Logan Freiburger (Arran-Elderslie). Freiburger quickly found the short side of the mesh to create a 2 goal difference. Holding tight to their lead with an appetite for a win, the visiting Highlander team competed hard and ended their season of league play with a 2-0 win. Goalie Tristan Lewis (Saugeen Shores) played big for his team to take home the shutout.
The boys will travel to Brampton next weekend to compete in the SCTA OMHA qualifier tournament. Go hard boys......
