Minor Bantams Work Hard Right To The End Of 2012
The Waste Management Minor Bantams had a fantastic hard working December 2012. These boys are giving it all they have and leaving everything on the ice. Where there is grit, determination and desire wonderful things can happen, win or lose. Where there is a will there is definately a way.
On December 20th, 2012 the Waste Management Minor Bantams travelled to Guelph for a rematch against the Storm. This club has brought some game this year and they are not easily beat. After one period of play the Highlanders were up with a score of 2-1. Goals were scored by Quinton Maddock and Jake Lee. After two periods the Highlanders were looking great and stayed ahead of the Storm with a score of 4-2. Second period goals were scored by Jake Lee assisted by Mike Fiegehan and Noah Johnson assisted by Quinton Maddock. The third period was very intense with the Storm coming on and the Highlanders being held to a defensive game. The Storm managed to put 2 goals in the net to end the game in a 4-4 tie.
On December 22, 2012 the Highlanders played host to the Oakville Rangers in Chesley. After the first period of play the game remained scoreless. The Highlanders were working very hard and playing with great team heart. During the second period the Rangers put one on the board but, the Highlanders responded with 2 goals of their own. Goals were scored by Shale Blakey and Troy Weber with the helpers going to Josh Urbshott and Shale Blakey. Starting the third with the score 2-1 for the Waste Management Minor Bantams, Oakville scored to tie the game at 2 a piece. Watching the clock tick down and both teams giving it all they had the Oakville Rangers managed to score the go ahead goal. With 1:47 left on the clock the Highlanders had a great deal of shots but, could not squeak one in ending the game with a final score of 3-2 for Oakville.
The Waste Management Minor Bantams had a great 2012 and we look forward to seeing what they can do in 2013 after a wonderful Christmas break with family.
