Minor Bantams Head Into December With Great Results
December is shaping up to be a very successful month for the Waste Management Minor Bantams with a win on the road and a tie and a win at home.  The Minor Bantams muscled their way to the net and it proved to be double trouble for the Niagara Riverman.

On Saturday December 1st the Waste Management Minor Bantams travelled to Welland.   This would be the first game between these two teams this season therefore, no one was sure what we were going to see.  After one period of play the game was 1-0  with Welland on the board and the Highlanders heading into the second period needing to get one in the net.  The second period saw an incredible amount of activity as the Waste Management Minor Bantams were unable to stop Welland from putting another up on the scoreboard.   The boys answered with a goal of their own from Jordan Taylor assisted by Jake Lee and Brenden Clayton. Shortly after Jake Lee added another from Jordan Taylor and Noah Johnson but, they were not finished yet. Matthew Epoch netted an unassissted go ahead goal for the Highlanders.   Heading into the third and with the Highlanders ahead 3-2 they were hoping to hold the scoring for the win unfortunately, three minutes into the last period Welland scored to tie it up.  After end to end action and a few goal posts and sighs from the fans the Highlanders pulled ahead with a goal from Jake Lee helped by Noah Johnson for a 4-3 win.   What a great way to start the month boys~!

On Saturday December 8th the Niargara Rivermen were in Chesley for a double header. Once again this was a first meeting for these two teams this season.  The Waste Management Minor Bantams were determined to have a successful day and after the first game the Highlanders and Riverman split the point with a 1-1 tie.  Three periods of end to end action saw the Highlanders out shooting Niagara but, unable to put it past their goalie.

After a nice team meal and being spectators for the Highlander Midget game we were back on the ice for game two.  The Highlanders were on the soreboard first mid period with a goal from Shale Blakey from Mike Fiegehan and Troy Weber. The Rivermen were not long putting 2 quick ones up themselves ending the first period with a score of 2-1.    In the second period Jake Lee scored 2 goals to put the Highlanders up 3-2 with assists awarded to Shale Blakey, Troy Weber and Will Rickerby.   Heading into the third period the Highlanders were trying to hold the lead when the Rivermen put one in the net tieing the game 3-3.    These boys were working hard hoping for the win when Will Rickerby put one in to make it official.  Will's goal assisted by Jake Lee and Noah Johnson gave the Highlanders the win with a score of 4-3.

What a great way to start December boys...Lets keep it going~!  Good Luck on the road next weekend and we will see everyone at the next homegame in Chesley on Saturday 22nd when they take on Oakville at 12pm.
