Minor Bantams Battle Hard On The Road.....
The Waste Management Minor Bantams worked hard in their away games the weekend of November 17th. Even though they came home with 2 losses, the score of these games did not dictate how well the boys played as a team.
On Saturday November 17th the Waste Management Minor Bantams travelled to Brampton to take on the Halton Hurricanes. After one period of play the score was 1-1 with an unassisted goal coming from Dalton Black to put the Highlanders on the board. The second period for the Highlanders was a flurry of goals for both teams as the Highlanders put up 2 goals from Jake Lee from Will Rickerby and an unassisted goal from Jordan Taylor but, it was not enough as the Halton Hurricanes added 4 of their own. The third period was fantastic with the Highlander boys working really hard holding the Hurricanes to just one goal as well as adding one of their own. The fourth goal scored by Mike Fiegehan finished the game with a final score of 6-4.
On Sunday November 18th the Minor Bantams played the Hamilton Bulldogs and continued to work hard and battle for a win. The first period ended with no score on the board as both teams fought hard for that first goal of the game. The second period saw Hamilton scoring twice with Highlanders Will Rickerby putting one in from Logan Swanton. As the Highlanders went into the third period and the score at a narrow 2-1, these boys turned it on and held the Hamilton Bulldogs until the end. With the Highlanders goalie Ryan Winter pulled and the hopes of a goal to tie it up, Hamilton scored an empty netter to take the game 3-1. Once again the score does not show how hard the boys fought. It has been rumoured that this could have been one of the best games that the boys have played so far this season.
