Out of Synch against Brampton
On January 19th, Corey's Tree Cutting Highlanders traveled to Brampton to tackle the 45's and expectations were high as many were expecting a great effort and big game.  After some hard work at practices, concentrating on the little things that we're having a little trouble with, the team was looking good to go.

The first period turned out to be a battle to get it out of our end.  A pressing 45's team seemed intent on keeping it there and they did with pressure that created turnover after turnover.  That combined with some questionable calls on our defence for a head shot on a very clean and hard hit, gave the hometown 45's a man advantage for 4 minutes.  Then another questionable call put us down two men.  The boys did an excellent job on the penalty kill and Brayden Kelso made some superb saves to keep the rubber out of the net.  The period ended 1-0 for Brampton with Kelso keeping the team in the game.  Hopefully, it was just a bad period and they could rebound.

The second period did see some more action in the opponents end but we were still having difficulty getting it out of our end.  The second period did end 1-1 on a Goal from Cam Lightfoot that only the hockey gods could have thought up.  A shot off of the 45's defenceman’s stick, deflecting high into the air and arcing down over the goalie and landing into the net.  Well, we will take it and hopefully that will give the boys the boost they need to get going.

Well, it didn't work as in third period we still couldn't get it going.  I guess they forgot to bring the hard teamwork and focus from practice, and it was lucky for Brampton, as the outcome would have been different.  The final was 3-1 for the 45's.
