Another Draw vs the Brampton 45’s
The boys came to play and right from the opening draw, they showed some real effort. Ahrens, Pickett and Black all dealt out some great body checks to get the team going in the first few shifts. Aljoe rang it off the crossbar early on and Kelso managed to take care of some difficult shots between the pipes. Throughout the back and forth period, neither team could break through and score. They battled hard on the boards and the Highlander defence managed to hold off the attacks from the 45’s.

During the second, the puck did not want to settle down for either team. The play was broken by a goal from the 45’s on the power play, but Lightfoot responded with a nice tally of his own. Breaking in over the blue line on the left side, he managed to sneak it past the goalie to tie the game.

By the third both teams pushed back, with Kelso once again making some spectacular saves to keep us on track. After the opposition went up 2-1 on a blistering slap shot from the slot, Lina broke down the right wing and buried a goal to tie it up again. In a game that highlighted some great positional play, we once again ended in a draw. The scene is set for the same kind of action next Saturday when the team heads back to the Memorial arena in Brampton to break the draw and come out with 2 points.

Way to work team!!!
