NIAGARA FALLS TO THE WASTE MANAGEMENT GBH PEEWEES!
It was a 3 point weekend for the Waste Management GBH Peewee squad this past weekend. Facing a double header in Niagara Falls, GBH came out strong and didn’t look back.
The first match was a back and forth struggle that ended in a 4-4 tie. Goals came from Weber, Fieghen, Solinger, and Lee. Armstrong was in net for the tie. The team jumped ahead in the game but was unable to hold the lead in the final minutes of play. Great effort by the team and it set things up for an exciting match up for game two that day.
The second game of the day was another back and forth battle, in the end the GBH squad walked away with a win with a 4-3 score. In net for the win was Atkinson, goals came from Lee and Rickerby with two each. Overall on Saturday, team work and hard play made the difference.
The team would like to thank our hosts, The Niagara Falls Rivermen team and parents for hosting a team lunch for everyone between games. Win or lose, it is what happens on AND off the ice that makes hockey a great sport. The players, coaches and parents really appreciated your hospitality.
The Waste Management Peewees took a much deserved Sunday off. You can catch the action next weekend on Sunday November 27th when they take on Burlington
