Scandinave Minor PeeWees Notch Another Road Victory
The Scandinave Minor PeeWees rolled into Welland last Saturday looking for their 3rd road victory in a row. The team was inspired by their performance a week earlier in Milton.

The boys looked a little rusty in the early part of the first period. Three and a half hours in a car can can do that to you sometimes! By the midway point of the first frame, the boys found their legs and took control of the contest. Evan Visser got things rolling with the first Highlander marker. Matthew Bogenreider and Austin Vanwyk chipped in with the helpers. The score stayed that way until the third period thanks to some excellent goaltending and a goal saving defensive play by Derrick Cornfield. Connor Roberts popped one in to make it 2-zip. Sean O'Donnell collected the assist.

Later in the frame, Trevor Donaldson sealed the win on a goal set up by Justin Marlowe and Connor Robersts. The Highlanders were definitely the better team on this afternoon and were worthy of the victory. Malachi Albrecht earned his first shutout of the season.

Full of confidence and emotion, the boys turned their attention to the visiting Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon in Chesley. There is nothing like a  game against the "Dogs" to get your blood pumping. The team came out strong in the first period and went "toe to toe" with the big physical squad from Steeltown. The Bulldogs scored late in the first to take a 1-0 lead into the second. The Highlanders seemed to pull back a bit and the opportunistic Bulldogs chipped in 2 quick goals to take control of the game. Lucas Pfeil did everything he could to keep the contest close as the Highlanders were badly outshot. Final Score: Bulldogs 4- Good Guys 0.
The Scandinave Minor PeeWees would like to wish both Noah Solinger and Tyler Atkinson a speedy recovery from their recent injuries. Get well boys! The PeeWee Majors will miss you both!

Hard to believe Christmas is almost upon us. The team will not be in action this weekend but have a full week of practice next week as they prepare for the Bell Capital Cup. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
