Kia of Owen Sound Grey Bruce Highlanders AAA Minor Midgets competed in the Toronto Marlies Holiday Classic AAA Tournament - The Kia Minor Midgets ended up with a record of 1 win, 2 losses and 1 tie.
The tournament started with a 4-1 loss against the Toronto Jr. Canadians with Tanner Bastien scoring the only Highlander goal. The Highlanders then played the Sun County Panthers and tied 1-1. The Highlander goal came from Brooks Nelthorpe. The Highlanders got an outstanding effort in goal from starter Wes Cameron.
The Tournament continued with games against the Markham Waxers and the Buffalo Regals. The Highlanders started with a loss against the Waxers 3-1. The single goal came from Jayme Forslund. The Highlanders then finished the tournament with their only win against the Regals. The Highlanders won the game 5-4 with the scoring lead by Justin Graham and Tanner Bastien with 2 goals each and single coming from Matt Cruickshank.
