SCTA RESULTS
The Grey-Bruce Highlander Peewees, sponsored by Dan Rear Lawn Service traveled to St. Catharines for the SCTA finals held Mar. 7 - 9.

OAKVILLE
The team faced the Oakville Rangers in game one of round robin tournament
action and fell behind 6-0 before an unassisted marker by Ryan Hamelin put
Grey-Bruce on the scoreboard in the third period. The game ended 7-1 in
favour of Oakville.

BRAMPTON

The Highlanders shook off the loss and skated out strongly for game two
against the Brampton Battalion.
Connor Patton, assisted by Nick Heffernan and Jordan Rear, scored midway
through the first period to put the Highlanders up 1-0. A minute later,
Hamelin fired in another, assisted by Patton and Kory Brady. Brampton
quickly replied to make it 2-1. Another Highlander goal, this one by Zach
Coulter, assisted by Lauchlin Elder, widened Grey-Bruce's lead once again.
Rear made no mistake on a break-away opportunity early in the second to
give his team a 4-1 advantage. Brady picked up an assist on the play. But
Brampton wasn't down and out yet, and replied with two quick goals to put
them back in the game.
Mitch Betts, assisted by Brandon Eagles, scored midway through the final
frame to give Grey-Bruce a two-goal cushion. Minutes later, Brampton netted
another.
The Highlanders, backed by the solid efforts of net minder Kyle Poole, held
off the Battalion as they pressed for the equalizer and the game ended 5-4
in favour of Grey-Bruce.

NIAGRA FALLS
The next morning, the team faced off against the Niagara Falls Thunder and
picked up their second win of the tournament. Elder (2), Patton (2) and
Betts scored for the Highlanders with assists going to Hamelin, Billy
Kelly, Betts, Kate Gilkinson, Eagles, Coulter and Zach Wilson. Tristan
Whitley turned in a strong performance between the pipes in the 5-2
