WASTE MANAGEMENT HIGHLANDERS KEEP ADDING UP THE POINTS
The Grey Bruce Waste Management Peewees split the weekend and collected two points.  This team keeps climbing the ladder and their hard work is adding up to wins as the season approaches the finish line.

On Friday January 20 the team traveled to Guelph to take on the Jr Storm.  The Highlanders controlled the game throughout with a 5-2 win.  At the end of the first period the Highlanders had one on the board with a goal from Mike Fiegehen assisted from Dalton Black.  The second period saw the Highlander defence working hard to protect the net, and it paid off, leaving the Storm scoreless at the end of the second.  Great team work from Maddock, Skinner, Swanton, Thompson, Urbshott and Reeves.  Highlanders picked up two more in the second with goals from Mitchell Newson, assisted by Will Rickerby and Jacob Lee assisted by Josh Urbshott and Mitchell Newson.

In the third the Storm attempted a come back putting two on the board, but the Peewees were quick to answer back with two more, with two goals from Will Rickerby, both assisted by Jacob Lee.

A team effort from everyone, and it was a short break before facing off against the squad from Hamiltong the next afternoon.

On Saturday Hamilton jumped out into the lead an
d didn't look back.  The final score was 8-1 with the Highlander goal from Newson assisted by Rickerby.  The less said and remembered about that game the better!

The team is geared up for another tough set of games this weekend as they face off against the Halton Hurricanes on Saturday and the Brampton Battalion on Sunday.  The home game is on Sunday at 4:00 in Chesley, fans are encouraged out as the Highalnders are planning an upset against the Brampton squad!  The team is on the hunt for 4 points as the weekend unfolds!
