2010-2011 PeeWee - Peewee Open Season in Midland
Submitted By Paul Stewart on Friday, September 03, 2010
Wednesday night the GeoSmart Energy Peewees opened their season against the North Central Predators.

The boys played a gritty game from start to finish winning many of the battles for the puck along the boards and in the corners.  They were able to create a number of scoring chances and were finally rewarded for their hard work when Jorden Reaman jammed in rebound at the 5:55 mark of the second (assists to Donnelly and O'Donnell). This helped to bring the game back to a one goal differential.
Penalty trouble (3 pp goals) and couple defensive zone breakdowns allowed the Predators to stretch the lead in the third to finish the game with a 5-1 score.
This was a great opening game with the Highlanders leading scoring chances, essentially even shots (22-21) and winning most of the puck battles and the majority of the physical play. Good start boys.
Their next game is Friday in Ayton at 6 against the Waterloo Wolves.
