2010-2011 Bantam - Exhibition game vs NorthCentral Predators
Submitted By Mark Dunsbier on Tuesday, August 31, 2010
The Bantam Highlanders travelled to Midland for an exhibition game on 21st August.

The warmup started out with 40 players in black, Midland eventually settled for red. The first 10 minutes was a bit scrambly for both teams. At 10.04 the passing was starting with a good rush to the net by Whitey. The Predators were first to get on the board at 8:26 on the powerplay on a good challenge by Cam with a lucky bounce over him. At 1:43 Czuczman scored on a good pass across the net from Rigney. The first ended 1-1.
The Predators started the second with a goal at 19:16. Dunsbier was injured coming out on the short end of a collision with the “Gomber”. On a powerplay at 11:30 Scheel scored on a laserbeam top shelf that was missed by the refs. However at 1:51 remaining in the second, Rigney scored on a beautiful backhand top shelf coming in from the right assisted by Scheel. The second ended 2-2.
The Predators scored at 10:30 in the third. And again At 6:53 they scored on the powerplay, however the goal was disallowed to even things up with the refs. At 3:44 the Highlander defence took over with Hopkin scoring from White to tie the game at 3-3. However North Central was not done, scoring on a 1-1 effort at 2:11 and on screen slapshot at 1:11. The game ended up 5-3 for the Predators.
In spite of the final score,  it was an entertaining evenly matched game. Next up is Waterloo wolves Sat August 28th.
